The linked degree programs make it possible for exceptional majors in Art History, Art Studio, Communication, Fine Arts, Geography, Individualized Interdisciplinary Studies, Philosophy, and Women's Studies to take up to 12 hours of graduate courses while completing their undergraduate degree and to gain a head start on a graduate degree. Up to 12 graduate credits taken may be counted toward both the undergraduate and the graduate degree. Students interested in pursuing the linked program should carefully plan their undergraduate course of study considering the requirements of the program.

Art, Drama, and Music Teachers, Postsecondary
Teach courses in drama, music, and the arts including fine and applied art, such as painting and sculpture, or design and crafts. Includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.
Social and Human Service Assistants
Assist in providing client services in a wide variety of fields, such as psychology, rehabilitation, or social work, including support for families. May assist clients in identifying and obtaining available benefits and social and community services. May assist social workers with developing, organizing, and conducting programs to prevent and resolve problems relevant to substance abuse, human relationships, rehabilitation, or dependent care.

For Admission to the Linked Communication and Humanities Program
To be admitted to the Certificate programs as an undergraduate, students must be juniors or seniors in any major with a GPA of 3.25 or better.

Examines the role of various communication systems in enacting social change involving commercial, governmental and not-for-profit contexts. Topics include persuasive techniques, community engagement, mobilizing large-scale social movements, and the political consequences of human and digital communication across the lifespan.
An overview of social scientific and qualitative methods used in lifespan development communication research. Includes survey, experiment, observations, content and conversation analyses with an emphasis on developmental methods. Approaches to studying communication of children, adolescents, and later life are included. Prerequisites: COMM 601.
